Flowmetrics is a leading manufacturer of turbine, rotameters, positive displacement flowmeters and associated flow electronics suitable for liquids and gases.
|
The force of the liquid moving through the device drives the measuring gears.
The liquid stream is divided into fixed volume cavities between the gear teeth
and the metering body. This is most commonly referred to as a positive
displacement meter. The gear movement is measured by means of a pick
up sensor located in the cover. When the measuring gears rotate by one
tooth pitch, the sensor emits a signal/frequency, which corresponds to the
geometric tooth volume. This signal can be processed by secondary
electronic instruments ranging from a basic flow signal to more complex flow
instruments to compensate for temperature, pressure, density, and viscosity
and hence provide more accurate volumetric or mass flow measurement.
Positive displacement flow meters can be used in a wide variety of
applications particularly to measure flow of viscous liquids and for batching
and blending application where a wide range accuracy is required.
